1930SummerSeveral nests were located, Alden Riseer finding both the earliest, May 16th (two eggs), and the latest, June 12th (one egg). Gustav Swanson found one at Frontenac on May 18th with five eggso Other nests were seen at Minneapolis, Robbinsdale and Shakopee.
1931SummerA bird was observed building its nest on June 2nd at Hadison, by 1'-1rs. c. E. Peterson. A nest with three eggs vas reported by Ralph Vloolsey on June 1oth.
1932SummerA nest with ;2 eggs1was looked into by EisO'le & Downey on\ Ju.."1e 4. The late:st nest ' was found at M:!ntevideo on July ~ 6, when it was the home of two young birds cCHrs~ Wilson).
1933Summer Thirteen nests were reported. Morse and Bra.okt~tt found one ncar Hru:nel on Mny 2oth, being th~ container of 1 egg on that date. A nest seen by Risser and Swanson at Frontenac on Nny 21st held 3 egc;s. The last nest w.s found by Hienonz at s·h. Cloud on Jun-e 23rd, when it cortnined 3 eggs~ -45-The Flicker, 1933
1934Summer The first occupied nest of this species vras found at Hutchinson on May 19th by Hiemenz. Its contents were 2 grosbeak eggs and one Brown-headed Cowbird egg. · Dr. Prosser and Mr. and Mrs. Swedenborg found the last nest on June 20th at Common Loon Lake. It was well-filled by 3 large young.
1935Summer R.ysgaard reports 2 eggs seen May 27th. Up in t~o St. Croix Forest Morse, ever nlert, ca.ne upon a nest -vlith 2 nearly grown young June 24th. Brcckonridce, who is our 1!-:ost consistent finder of. late nests, saw 4 ecgs July 17th.
1936Summer Kenneth Carlander saw adults buildj_ng on May 14th. The first nest with eggs was found at Frontenac by Risser, Don and Mrs. Mahle, Erickson and Rysgaard; the nest held four eggs on May 24th. The latest nest w~s found by Upson on June 24th and held one egg" On July 9th Mrs. Peterson saw young out of nest near Hadison.
1937SummerOn May 29 Dr. Donald Mahle found a nest of 3 eggs near Plainview. E. D. Sweden­borg saw two nests that held three and four eggs respectively on June 2. On June 24 Mrs. C. E. Peterson, at Madison, Minn., saw a young grosbeak on the ground being fed by a male parent.
1938SummerOn May 20, at Minneapolis, Upson found a nest that held I Grosbeak's egg ·and 2 Brown-headed Cowbird's eggs; the male was incubating. On May 30, near Plainview, Dr. Mahle found a nest and 3 eggs; the male was incubating. At Lake Vermillion, on June ro, Swedenborg and Prosser found 2 nests that held 2 and 3 eggs. Brecken­ridge saw Rosebreasts building on June 23 at Nine Mile Creek, Minneapolis. 
1940SummerDr. Lakela and C. Hero found a nest on Skyline Parkway at Duluth ·on June 3; it held I egg.
1943SummerJuone 13, 4 young, Ramsey County. Bros. Lewi1s.and Pius. ~orth Mpls., 3 eggs, June 13. W. J. Breckenridge.
